Your donations make a difference!

We at FLMCC want to thank all our supporters and donors and we hope you have had a good start in the New Year!

Your donations are crucial to the work we do. In the past few months, some of these funds have been used to provide assistance in Florida in support of a project to provide school kits and book bags for children in need of school supplies, while other funds were used in support of two projects to provide foodstuffs for two shelters serving the homeless in the greater Orlando area. Specific donations to our heating fund were used to provide heating assistance for three families in South Dakota.

(Above) Your donations allowed FLMCC to provide 24 school children in the Orlando, FL region with basic school kits complete with quality book bags.

(Below) Thanks to your support, FLMCC was also able to participate in food drives to help shelters meet nutritional needs for the homeless in the greater Orlando region.

URGENT: FOOD SUPPLIES NEEDED, FAMILY WITH 4-YEAR-OLD CHILD

This family with 4-year-old child is struggling to make ends meet and keep proper nutritious food on the table. Please consider helping in any way you can – sending a small box of foodstuffs such as applesauce, canned soups, tins of fruit and vegetables, tuna, dried soups and other preparations, etc. would help provide more varied and healthful meals. Our mission: Stepping up to help when help is needed

FLMCC’s mission is to provide assistance, financially and/or otherwise, to families with small children and/or elders who are in need of rapid assistance to deal with basic needs.
On Wednesday December 8th, we were told that two little boys on the Pine Ridge reservation, aged 3 and 4, had had to be placed with an emergency foster family. The children arrived with only the clothes they had, and though the foster family received some clothing the next day, it was clear that there would not be enough to cover an extended stay until one of the boys’ relatives could take them in.
We stepped up right away. By Thursday Dec. 9th, a group of supporters were collecting good toddler clothing, shoes, coats, hats and gloves, Pull-ups, and other much needed articles for the babies. At the time of this writing (Dec. 12th), FLMCC has also provided financial assistance so that urgent needs can be met over the coming days while awaiting arrival of the boxes of clothes and coats, which are to be shipped next week starting Monday.
And – holiday season oblige – there will also be toys!
Thanks to the support of Smoke Signal Gems and our other kind contributors and the help from supporters like Christine Hooghkirk and her colleagues and friends, FLMCC can once again proudly say: WE DELIVER.
Bless all of you. Thank you. We will keep  you updated as needs be.

I need prayers for patience and energy. Thank you to my dear children D Young Man II, Santana Young Man, Mercedese Young Man, Lane Young Man and Darien Young Man. If it weren’t for their support I couldn’t help all the young ones. I love you babies for sticking with me and standing by me. Wopila especially to Michelle L Warmath and David Anthony of Freddy & Lil Massi Calling Corp, for helping me to provide for the two lil ones that were brought to me. I forgot how much energy is needed to properly care for toddlers.

Upcoming shipments of good used clothing and propane/heating drive

We have been receiving a lot of good used winter clothing for youth and adults, including a very large shipment just the other day. As the very cold weather is setting in we would like to be able to get as many warm coats and things as possible shipped to needy families on the Lakota and other reservations in the coming days. Moreover, we are expecting the first requests for heating assistance to arrive soon.

We appreciate any donation you can provide, no matter how small,  towards our shipping and heating funds, so that we can bring this much-needed assistance to children and elders as fast as possible, whenever possible. You can make a secure donation by clicking on our “donate” button here on this page.  Our “Donations” page also provides information on how you can help. Thank you so much for your support!

If you wish to send warm, gently-used clothing directly to the families on the reservations, this would be a tremendous help. Please find below the addresses of our trusted contact people on the various reservations who make sure all donations go where they are most needed. Your help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
