We support our Veterans

At FLMCC, we support our Veterans too. In April, thanks to your generous donations, we provided some 500 lbs of good clothing and other items to help our vets and their families.

Your donations make a difference!

For almost five years now, FLMCC has been active in bringing much-needed assistance to families and elders on the Native American Reservations in South Dakota and elsewhere who are undergoing financial hardship. From warm winter clothing and heating assistance to emergency food assistance, school July 2016supplies, and holiday toys for the children, your donations have allowed us to help several hundred families to get a little respite and relief from the worry of not being able to meet their children’s and families’ needs during difficult times.

We cannot stress enough how very important and appreciated your donations are in helping us to achieve our goals of ensuring that no family or elder is left to deal with lack of heat in the cold of winter, good winter clothing for school and everyday living, or necessary food when times are tough. And we cannot thank you enough for the generosity you have shown in supporting us in this mission.

Your donations are important; more, without them this work would not be possible. We hope you will continue to support us as we move forward in our mission to make sure no one in need is forgotten.

Food and clothing assistance needed

food supplies June 28 2016

A few weeks ago, Freddy & Little Massi Calling Corp assisted a grandmother in South Dakota, Dollie Red Elk, with her utilities bill so that she could recover her service and be able to cook and have hot water again. Dollie contacted us this week to thank everyone again for this help and say that she had been able to make arrangements to help her keep the bill covered in the future, but that this had left her with very little for groceries until her next social security check arrives at the end of July. $200 in food stamps do not go far to meeting the nutritional needs of growing children; there is a food pantry where she can get some supplies this month, but with a 7-year old girl and two teen grandsons in her charge, she feared she would  not be able to meet the family’s grocery needs or the coming month. Your donations will allow us to provide a little assistance with groceries so that Dollie can make sure the children get nutritious meals every day until she gets back on her feet.

We have also had a request for assistance with clothing for a single father on the Pine Ridge Reservation who has four children aged 7 to 13. He and the children are currently homeless and any help you may be able to provide so that we can ship a few clothes to tide the family over would be much appreciated. If you have clothing you think might be suitable, please feel free to leave a message on our Facebook Page.

You can make a secure, tax-deductible donation on our Home Page (PayPal buttons at the top and bottom of the page) or by clicking on the “Donate Now” button at the top of our Facebook Page. Or if you prefer you can mail a check to the address in the image at the top of this page. And if you shop on Amazon, please consider making Freddy & Little Massi Calling Corp your preferred charity through Amazon Smiles!

Thank you all so much for your help! It is so very appreciated!

Thank you for your support!

We at FLMCC would like to show our gratitude to Kim Lawrence of Healing Smoke Gems and her customers for their strong support of our work. Through donations supplied by Healing Smoke Gems we have been able to help many families on the Native American reservations who otherwise would have had to wait a long time to get propane and utilities for heating and other daily needs.

Your support is greatly needed and very much appreciated in our mission to come to the assistance of those in need of emergency assistance with basic everyday needs.

We need your support!

WE CANNOT DO THIS ALONE. TEAM EFFORT AND DONATIONS ARE THE KEY INGREDIENTS TO OUR EFFORTS. Everyday we get requests for assistance & too often we have to turn down some and prioritize help which sometimes seem unfair. Please join us to get this done right.

Our mission: Stepping up to help when help is needed

FLMCC’s mission is to provide assistance, financially and/or otherwise, to families with small children and/or elders who are in need of rapid assistance to deal with basic needs.
On Wednesday December 8th, we were told that two little boys on the Pine Ridge reservation, aged 3 and 4, had had to be placed with an emergency foster family. The children arrived with only the clothes they had, and though the foster family received some clothing the next day, it was clear that there would not be enough to cover an extended stay until one of the boys’ relatives could take them in.
We stepped up right away. By Thursday Dec. 9th, a group of supporters were collecting good toddler clothing, shoes, coats, hats and gloves, Pull-ups, and other much needed articles for the babies. At the time of this writing (Dec. 12th), FLMCC has also provided financial assistance so that urgent needs can be met over the coming days while awaiting arrival of the boxes of clothes and coats, which are to be shipped next week starting Monday.
And – holiday season oblige – there will also be toys!
Thanks to the support of Smoke Signal Gems and our other kind contributors and the help from supporters like Christine Hooghkirk and her colleagues and friends, FLMCC can once again proudly say: WE DELIVER.
Bless all of you. Thank you. We will keep  you updated as needs be.

I need prayers for patience and energy. Thank you to my dear children D Young Man II, Santana Young Man, Mercedese Young Man, Lane Young Man and Darien Young Man. If it weren’t for their support I couldn’t help all the young ones. I love you babies for sticking with me and standing by me. Wopila especially to Michelle L Warmath and David Anthony of Freddy & Lil Massi Calling Corp, for helping me to provide for the two lil ones that were brought to me. I forgot how much energy is needed to properly care for toddlers.

GETTING AHEAD FOR THE WINTER: SPACE HEATER DRIVE

You made FLMCC’s 2015 Space heater drive a success.

Thanks to your support and generosity we were able to ship enough space heaters for 14 families on the Pine Ridge and Standing Rock reservations in South Dakota.

These space heaters will help keep families warm as the cold sets in and be a complement to the more usual form of heating with propane. We hope the families will be able to enjoy a less stressful winter with this supplementary form of heating.

We want to extend our particular thanks to: Debbie and Ray Hirsch, Sharon Smith, Deborah Wright, Tara Brousseau, Anne Gale, Rene Dubois III, Anniemay Parish, and also to Kim Lawrence and her kind customers at Smoke Signal Gems, for their unfailing support and encouragement, as well as our gratitude to our anonymous donors and all our social media “sharers” whose support is an integral part of making this kind of project happen.

Many respectful thanks also to Oglala Lakota elder Jean Belt, her daughter Davidica Littlespottedhorse and all the family for their much-appreciated hard work and assistance in this project.

We are also beginning to ship good warm coats and other clothes, scarves, hats, and we are getting ready to assist with propane when needed. If you would like to help, please consider contributing to our shipping and propane fund. You can do so today by simply clicking on the “Donate” button at the top of the page. Your donations are tax-deductible in the United States. If you have gently-used clothes or other household things you no longer need, see our “Get involved” page for addresses of reliable contact people who will help get these goods to those who need them, or feel free to contact us.

Thank you for your support!
